Tickets in London

When I was in London for the first time — and it was a long time ago — we weren’t able to get tickets to the shows we wanted to see.  All sold out.

This was back before the days of the internet (see!  I told you it was a long time!), and we were just out of luck.  Today, of course, if the same thing happened, I’d know what to do.  I’d go over to Ticket Solutions and look for tickets to the sold out event.

Ticket Solutions specializes in events in London and the rest of the UK, especially those that are hard to get.  If you come across a sold out concert or musical event, check with Ticket Solutions before you give up.

Or better yet, don’t wait ’til you’ve met disappointment elsewhere before you call.  Just go straight to Ticket Solutions and get your tickets for UK music events.  And enjoy!!

Tai Shan

I’ve been invited by Sloth Jockey to begin a new blog there.  I am excited about this, and have agreed to set up a new blog called Tai Shan.

At this new blog, I’ll be writing about my experience in and with China, and about all things Chinese.  I think it should be lots of fun, and I hope you will come along and enjoy the experience with me!

Through the Grapevine

Grapevine.com is the website to see

Where all the great fashions are given visibility
In the course of telling a fun tale
Of four women whose lives are going just swell,
Viewers will receive the great opportunity
To make themselves as cool as they can be

For as Grapevine.com airs each episode
All the things you see there are to be sold
If you click on something there that you like,
Whether clothes, trips, bags, or maybe even a bike,
You’ll be taken right away to the perfect online spot
Where you can purchase all of the items that are hot

Tune in to Grapevine.com, do it today
And I think you’ll join the chorus of women who say
That the items you’ll find there to buy through the site
Are the sort of thing that will suit you just right
You can even dig through the closets of the girls on the show
And you might just find the perfect purchase there, don’t you know

Announcing…

At last I’ve gone and done what I thought I’d never do

And so here I am today to introduce to you
A new site that I am keeping, in my own given name
Advancing to the next step in this great blogging game
Stop by and see me whenever you’ve got the time
Drop me a note, say hi, and tell me you’re doing fine
There won’t be any lame poetry it the posts over there
So if you’re more used to this blog, it’ll be a breath of fresh air
I’ll write mostly about movies, books, and that sort of thing
And we’ll see what sort of interest this new place will bring

Migrating

I am migrating my travel blog to a site called Peregrine Online. I know, ironic, huh? Well, it seemed like the thing to do, putting it on its own domain.

I will be writing about the same sorts of things I always have, travel around Singapore, China, and other parts of Asia, as well as other spots I’ve been around the globe.

I’m adding in another section to the blog, which is more on life in Singapore and Shanghai, especially with tips for foreigners staying in one place or the other (I split my time between the two, though I was brought up in the US).

Hope you’ll stop by to see me there.

The Other Half

When do two halves not make a whole?

Well, the answer is simple,  if you must know
When each half in itself ought be complete
How can it help any other it might meet?
Completion must with a  part that’s a fit
And self-exploration is where you’ll find it

If knowing another, on the other hand,
Helps self-knowledge, then it’s quite grand
But when another half is used as a mask
Disguising the fears, then I must ask
What value is in a relationship like that
Keeping us from seeing where the other half’s at?

The Value of My Blog

I’ve just come across this fun website, thanks to my friend silken, and I thought I’d give it a look to see how much my blogs are worth. I’ll be posting the answer to that on each individual blog.

This one is worth:

My blog is worth $6,774.48.
How much is your blog worth?

Well, that’s on the open market. Of course it is worth much more to me.

Places to Go

Still shining the spotlight on my blogging friend, silken, so I’d like to turn to her blog called Places to Go.  This is a unique sort of travel blog because silken doesn’t just talk about places she’s been, but also about places she hasn’t been, but would like to go.  I think that’s pretty clever, really!

Just look here what she says about Vienna, or here about Avebury.  You’ll find out about all sorts of places when you read through this blog.   I mean, I never even heard of the Museum of Hoaxes till I read about it on her blog.

Here, you can also find out about movies that talk about specific places, like what you see in her entry on an arctic tale.  (I think there’s a theme emerging — icebergs????)

Silken has a curious mind, one that would like to see and know more about this big world.  In this blog, that really shines through.
